We are currently ( 4:22AM) having storms come through our area. Fun, fun, fun! We have a little Weather radio that alerts us whenever there is severe weather. It has a loud alarm that tends to scare the shit out of us, our cats, and probably any living creature within earshot.

Except our 16 year old daughter. She slept through the first seven or eight alarms that went off. About every five minutes or so we were getting another alert. First we got a Severe thunderstorm watch. Then a warning. Then an all clear. Then another one, then a tornado watch, then a tornado warning. Then another… Ad infinitum.

Don’t get me wrong, I am damn glad we have this radio. We live in Texas, in the Tornado Belt, so it is good to have an early warning system. But it is a bit jarring when the thing goes off just as you are drifting off to sleep. We wake up and listen to that alert, then try to go back to sleep. Drift off and then… BEEP BEEP BEEP BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ!!!!!!

We jump, cats scatter, and we are wide awake.

Today is going to be Sandy’s last day of school here in Texas, so we are both getting up with her… At 6 blessed thirty in the AM…

So at this point we figure, the hell with it, we might just as well watch some TV. We can always go back to bed after Sandy leaves for school.
